I would like to extend an invitation to the member associations to join United Four Wheel Drive Associations and Off Road Business Association at an OHV Lobby Day in Washington, DC. The time will be July 12-14, 2005. We will be visiting elected representatives and appointed officials to discuss recreational access issues on public lands. We are encouraging a representative from each member association join this event. We will be arranging office visits with elected representatives. This is your chance to visit your elected representative's office in Washingto n, DC. We are arranging a visit with agency personnel to discuss issues such as National OHV policy, collaboration efforts, OHV route designation and recreation permit issues. If you cannot attend, we encourage you to forward a brief statement on association letterhead outlining your concerns and desire for support of motorized recreation issues and we will deliver it to your representative's office. There will be a variety of OHV groups present. To date, California Off Road Vehicle Association, American Sand Association, San Diego Off Road Coalition, California Nevada Snowmobile Association, and American Motorcycle Association District 37 have committed. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning are the designated times for walking the halls of congress. A reception is being planned for Wednesday. Contributions to help offset the cost are welcome and appreciated. If you desire more information, wish to attend or submit issues of concern, or contribute, please let me know. I will be working with Off Road Business Association staff to assist making travel and hotel arrangements.
