Seriously, people from places like Toledo go out there and rent Jeeps and drive many of the trails. The RV park where we stayed rents Jeeps to anyone, and the only trails you are precluded from driving are Black Bear (the one pictured above) and Poughkeepsie Gulch.

Its not as bad as it looks from that angle. The locals say that as long as the trail is wide enough to not have more than half your outside tire tread hanging over the edge; you are good to go.

I didn’t go out there either. I can’t put my finger on it, but there is something about standing on the edge of a 2,000’ crumbling sheer cliff looking down at clouds and the tops of 12,000’ mountains that just don’t appeal to me. |
