NEW GAME PLAN: We've elected to change to the MADISON Christmas parade. December 10, 2016 After realizing the challenges people will likely have with the Huntsville parade occurring on a Thursday in addition to the fact that it fell on the same evening as our scheduled December 2016 club meeting, the decision was made to move to Madison's parade. Parade theme this year is "The Magic of Christmas" Line up can begin no earlier than 4:00 P.M. on Plaza Drive (See map and note North is to the Left) and all participants should be lined up and ready to go by 5:00 PM - parade actually begins at 5:30. All information can be found on the City of Madison's website here. Deadline for registration is November 23 by 5:00 P.M. - no registration fee. Edited by cj8lvr - 04 November 2016 at 6:44am |

I just went in and edited the main post Mike had made to reflect the club decision from last night to move to the MADISON Christmas parade which will take place in Madison on December 10. Most all pertinent information was added to that first post.
Mike, could you take it from here with the form, anything else? Glad to assist if needed - just let me know. We live in Madison so keep that in mind if something needs to be delivered. |

Happy Tuesday,
I am thinking about taking part in the parade this Saturday. Never been in a Madison City Parade, but have in a few of HSV's. Would it be best for all who are participating to meet somewhere first then drive over as a group to line up??? Or will we be able to just meet for the parade and line up together along Plaza Drive??? Just something to think over... Thanks for any feedback, Janet |

I'm in as well. I have the built in 140 watt inverter and another 90 watt plug in if someone wants to run some normal plug in lights around the outside or something. Club folks are also welcome to ride with me.
I think we are waiting on Mike to tell us where to meet up or otherwise what the plan is? Standing by till then. Edited by BlackBird - 05 December 2016 at 5:01pm |

Parade_Flyer.pdf
2016_Christmas_Parade_Route.pdf Christmas_Parade_Awards.pdf Here's the update folks. I think we should meet at the Kroger on the corner of Wall Triana and Browns Ferry. Departing no later than 4pm to the parade staging down Browns Ferry to Plaza Blvd by the County Courthouse Satellite. I plan on being there approximately 3:45pm coming from the New Market parade with Buckhorn Band. I will be on CB Channel 16 (4x4=16 ) and my cell is 256-457-8372. As stated in this months meeting and the flyer above the theme is the "Magic of Christmas". Any suggestions or input is great! Mike Edited by Mike_LaMar - 05 December 2016 at 9:42pm |

How many vehicles did you register or does it not matter? Should I decorate or offer up for others to do it day of? I can run some lights and maybe tie something to the spare tire. Any other thoughts or plans? If someone wanted to decorate a flat trailer or something I can pull it... just offering.

I registered for 10 vehicles plus a truck and trailer so we should be good. I plan on doing most decorating in the morning, light, tree, ect.

Typical back when we did HSV parade was show up and do most decoration on site. Stuff tends to blow when getting to and from so decorating on site and pull off at the close out spot is best. There is plenty of time between the line up and parade for that. It will be cold Sat. so be prepared.

Jeremy Cash has a frame that can be c-clamped to a front bumper and the club banner (which I think that I have) attached to it on a lead vehicle. I'll get the frame from him this week and see if it'll fit my Scrambler front bumper. If not, we'll do some measuring and see if it'll fit on somebody else's.
I'll also try and find the club banner so we have it located.

I've located the banner (at Doc's) and will pick it up today along with the frame for it.
If the frame won't work on my front bumper, I'll either come up with an alternative, modify it to work, or we'll need to find one of y'all who's bumper will cooperate better with the configuration. I'll report back ASAP. Jake

Fun time was had by all I think. Lots of "trail fixes" occurred during prep ;) Think my son learned a lesson about not turning the electric fan off and leaving the jeep running I posted some pics to the facebook page.

I had a great time Saturday night! Really appreciate being part of the group in the parade and a special big THANK YOU goes out to Steve - who helped trouble-shoot my electrical issue and got my Christmas lights working. Steve, you are awesome!
