"When you receive your next paycheck, you may notice that the amount is a little less than usual.  Why?  The Social Security 2% Old Age Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) tax that was cut a few years ago, went back into effect for the first pay period in the 2013 pay year - pay period ending December 29, 2012."

I'm glad only us millionaires got hit with the tax increases. Confused Confused Confused

Gets even better for us. Our company got bought out last year and we switch to the new company benefits (which suck) and pay periods. So this week we got a one week check to get us on the same pay schedule as the Borg mothership, and of course things got screwed in the translation. Some of the benefits weren't deducted so we get double deducted next check, full benefits costs were deducted even though it was only pay for one week, etc.

It will be Feb. before I get to tell what impact congress had on my pay check Dead

They not only raised the rate, they raised the base...

Last year it was 4.2% on the base with a max of $4626.

This year it is 6.2% on the base with a max of $7,049... an increase of $2,425!

As a business owner-I have to pull out the 6.2% and 1.45% from each employee's check then pay 15.3% of my total paroll each week . See the IRS takes 7.65% from everyone then makes employers pay the 7.65% tax again for each employee.

Yep.  I see where some of the "Obots" are suddenly crying about why their paycheck has changed from last one to this one.  They weren't supposed to be taxed any more, he promised.  His promises aren't worth cold spit.

Most of the "Obots" get the government freebies that WE are paying for so they still think everything is fine and dandy.  Angry

Well, they voted for him, now they get to pay for it. I'm not looking forward to seeing what an impact it'll be on my first paycheck, as it's been pretty tight for my household as is. Ramen noodles, here we come!

Start listening y'all:

You can listen every day live online if you like.

Some of y'all know this already, but we took the class (Financial Peace University) at Asbury Methodist in Madison.  As of November 5, 2012 (day before election coincidence-what do you think?) we are debt free except the house.  If not for following his program and sitting down every pay period and working out our budget (TOGETHER) and then sticking to it....this house would be in a world of hurt right now!  Not saying we're loving this economy or anything but we are certainly in a much better position now than we ever would have been sans that class and then following through with the program.  I'd be happy to tell any of you more about it if you are interested.

It's not a cult or some kind of weird pyramid scheme.  (Like I initially thought)
It's real world direction based on very simple ideas that our culture and generation does not follow now.  (We were certainly guilty of it)
