After you see it and the traffic it generates, you will see why they couldn't build it at 65/72.

Build it and they will come.  That place is like the largest truck stop you have ever been to, but trucks aren't allowed.  Only cars and RV's are allowed.  They have over 120 fuel pumps with gas and diesel at each pump.  The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are spotless.  If Larry has a brain in his head, he would move his Greenbrier operation out to be next door to Bucees.

Right....it's like a shopping mall.  Traffic at this place with rival Toyota Field on game day.

Paul likes that they have DEF at the pump.  Pump diesel, pump DEF.

I have been to the one in Birmingham and Mobile. There's plenty of space at the 565/65 exit and much more Huntsville /decatur traffic to take advantage of.

Have you ever been out there in the morning and afternoon when everyone is headed to and from Redstone and Research Park?  That place is crazy.  The Decatur folks I worked with called it the Huntsville 500.  I'm sure Buckees paid a sh!tload of Beaver Nuggets for a study on where to locate their new store.

been by the 565/65 intersection many times, there are plans to widen 565 to 65 and improve merge exits but I'm sure Bucees will do fine-I will never drive out of my way to go to it where they are building it.

Don't hold your breath on politicians promising "imminent" road improvements.

“I personally attended the ribbon cutting in 1996 when (then Gov.) Fob James said the widening of 53 to Interstate 65 was imminent.”
