Why do people keep saying it's being sold to fiat?

Technically speaking - you now own  Convertible UAW Special.

Where to start....

Well I think I've decided I've purchased my last new jeep. Not just the crap that is going on with the bankruptcy, but since Chrysler decided to yank the dealership from the Cullman Dealer (who supported Stony Lonesome OHV Park even after Chrysler refused to help) and give it to the Dodge dealer across the street, I've had it with them. Besides look at all the crap we got with the French help under AMC.

Now who else wonders how it bodes for the US when the courts decide that written contracts have no worth and have less standing than no contract??? I think the winds of "Change" are at work here.

Robert, that's the most troubling aspect of this entire process.  The very concept that you can take away the preferred status of preferred stockholders tosses not only the concept of contract law on it's head, it also will be devastating for companies trying to gain capital through stock.

I mean - why on earth would I pay a premium for preferred stock from this day forward - when the gov't has just told me they can and WILL negate that preferred status at their whim?

Simply absurd...

Actually goes further than that. Same logic can be applied to any contract (after all the bonds are contracts). Don't like you house, just walk away, don't like the terms of your apartment lease, no problem just do what you want, the contract doesn't matter. Like so much that the government is doing today (i.e. CPSIA) they don't consider the full range of implications of what they have done.
