I'm thinking of buying this fiberglass camper top from a neighbor and just wanted to see what your all experience has been with them? I just mainly want it so I can put my hunting junk in there and keep it dry in foul weather. Occasionaly sleep in it when we dont carry the tent. This one in particular has some sort of rubber boot that seals up to the back of the cab and I just dont get a warm fuzzy about that no leaking or rubbing the paint off. |

The rubber boots normally don't leak, but they will rub the paint off the cab when the bed flexes. If it has a sliding window in the front of the camper you don't have to use the boot.

take lots of measurements before you hoist it up there. Dodges tend to have a tapered bed and some other trucks are straight. |

Had one on my S-10 years ago. Loved it. Used the rubber boot and a sliding window in the truck. Made for a decent pass thru. Used it for covering stuff for hauling, as well as sleeping in it camping. Pretty nice coupled with plywood cut for the bed with outdoor carpet mounted on it. I didn't have any issues with it taking the paint off. I loved mine.
