This is an interesting Bill but the article is just plain stupid! This is used as an example of why a law like this is important - “Miranda Perry is a waitress at Sidelines Sports Deli in How the hell is keeping a gun locked in her car going to help Miranda during her walk through the parking lot and across the street? “Hold on now, wait right there. I’ve got a gun locked in my car! If you try to assault me, I’ll run across the street and get it! Then you’ll really be sorry!” While we need to support attempts to fight the anti-gun crowds, we need to keep things in perspective. |

I didn't say it was perfect. It is a step in the right direction though. A lot of employers have no carry policies due to liability. This may help to change that.

I'm not saying the bill isn't worth supporting. I hope it passes. I just found the arguments made in the article pretty stupid.
The opposition has gotten us to where we are a step at a time.

I think this Bill is kind of funny, or at least the article is. The way I see it, your car is an extension of your property. The law allows for you to keep firearms "on your property." So, what does this bill really do for us? The CCP is only required if the firearm is loaded and within reach.

Late last Thursday, May 14 the Senate Judiciary Committee was expected to vote on House Bill 362, Alabama’s “Worker Protection” Bill. However, Senator Myron Penn (D-28), the Chair of the Senate Judiciary opted not to send it out of committee. Unfortunately, this move ultimately killed the bill. |
