Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That Congress-- (2) requests that the President issue a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe the National Day of Silence with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities; and (3) encourages each State, city, and local education authority to adopt laws and policies to prohibit name-calling, bullying, harassment, and discrimination against students, teachers, and other school staff regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, so that the Nation’s schools are institutions where all individuals are able to focus on learning. Congress will support something like this in ours schools, but we can't even speak of anything pertaining to God anywhere near a school.
If this were a Christian organization protesting agianst homosexuality in our schools politicians would avoid them like the plague. They definately wouldn't get congress's support. It is no wonder why our society has no morals.

Can we have a day of silence for the white male? Reverse discrimination has pretty much stripped us of any civil rights. If we speak our minds, we're sexist, racist, egotistical or just outright wrong. Anyone else saying the same thing is "exercising their right to free speech."
Homosexuals stress how they are just like everyone else and want to be treated the same way and yet they try to push for preferential treatment because of their sexual orientation. Seems contradictory to me.

The homosexual community would do well to stay silent all the time. I don't know of any other group that has to be in your face all of the time about their sexual preferences. I'm sure if all of the people outside of that particular group were to behave in the same fashion about their preferences, they would surely be censored. I don't care what homosexuals do, but I do care when I or my family have to endure constant pressure to accept what they do. After all, how many other species on this earth display homosexual behavior? Zero. |

It's just all around absurd. Schools can no longer have a moment of silence for prayer to their respectful religion because "it forces their religion on others." So I guess it's ok to force homosexuality on others?
They act as though they are a different race of people just because of what they do behind closed doors.

I dont hate anyone. There are people whom I consider to be my friends that are homosexual. I dont care. Its their choice to make, not mine. But I dont believe that this crap of sexual preference should be something that is constantly rubbed in everyone's face. Its crass, crude, and disgusting to be confronted with something that to me is the equivalent of "Im a booger eater" or "I drink pee" or "I like to sniff other people's feet".
Can't we just keep the perversions (and NON-perversions!) private between those that enjoy them?!? Heterosexual people, for the most part, dont walk around wearing their sexual preferences on their sleeve, demanding recognition for them......why must the homosexuals do so? Its like they cant seem to get out of the semi-adolescent junior-high-school mentality about the whole thing. Grow up, fer cryin out loud. What you are is what you have decided to be, lets all move on!
Marriage, now that's a whole 'nother issue.

Not true.
A little time around cows is all it would take to show you some reality.
I don't think you need to be watching the farmer. Keep an eye on the cows and young bulls.

You guys are missing my point, maybe I didnt make it clearly. There are no other warm-blooded species in existence that SURVIVE practicing homosexuality. The are some, like humans, who have perverse behaviour that is not reproductive in its intent or its outcome. These cows you speak of do NOT raise calfs through homosexual practices. They do NOT live uniquely homosexual lives and progenate their species (either through some star-wars medical means or through adoption) by such practice. In the lesser animals (of which man is rapidly looking like a member) homosexuality exists as a rssult of confusion, misplaced sex drive, hormone levels which drive the beast to confusion and acts outside the norm. Ever seen a femal dog hump something or someone? Yep.
As for the cows thing, I studied animal husbandry at Tennessee Tech University (when I was trying to become a Veterinarian), and I actually prepared cattle for show. I passed courses which required grading of cattleand hogs (prime, choice, good, and x-back). I have bought, raised and sold at market hogs. I have raised several breeds of chickens.(barred-rocks, domineckers and red games). I worked for a farmer in Cookeville, Tn about a thousand years ago. So, yes, I have done my time "down on the farm".
Show me one calf born to a bull. Show me one calf nursed, protected and raised by a bull. Get my point?

Well, actually I have spent a bunch of time on farms. My grandfathers were farmers. I graduated from Mississippi State, a regional "cow college" and grew up in Starkville. I've seen a lot of cows!!!
As I recall on the farm, I don't remember any bulls displaying flaming homosexual behavior, trying change the rules of the farm to impose acceptance of homosexual behavior on other cows, having same sex bull marriage, attempting to abopt calfs and raise them in alternative lifestyle pastures, etc, etc, etc.
Human homosexual behavior obviously goes far beyond confusion over the natural role of the sexes and the denial Christian teaching on this matter, and I believe this, along with the political propaganda blitz, is what most members of this forum find objectionable about a national Day of Silence.
Edited to add:
As for the confused bulls........... As I recall on the ole' farm, if a bull is not fullfilling his role as the producer of young calfs for the farmer, his career will be short. He is destined to become steak, roast, and hamburger! Edited by mudcat - 14 April 2009 at 3:48am |
