T18 4 Speed vs T15 3 Speed

   That T18 granny gear is good for when the wheels are moving...  How about when we get stuck?  My '79 V8 CJ5 sure was easier to rock back and forth in the mud using reverse to 1st gear with the stock T150...  With the change to the T18 with a granny low it became a mellow idle speed trail crawler....  Reverse and 2nd gear are just in the wrong place in the shift pattern for really energetic rocking!  
Thoughts?
