I have looked high and low for some Zerex Antifreeze, Heavy Duty, White Bottle.  I have looked at Advance Auto, Autozone, Oriellys, Walmart.  They show it on the Valoline/Zerex web page, but I can't find it anywhere.

That's what I have in my truck and I would like to replace it with the same thing.

Put your zip into the search bar on the lower left and click on the arrow.  It shows a bunch of *supposed* suppliers in the area, including the stores you mentioned.

Looks like you may have to order it from one of them.

*supposed* is right.  Most of those places I have already tried.  But I'm going to give the others a call this week.

I thought Zerex was a common brand.  I wonder what happened to them?

Jeez!  I'm reading about antifreeze over at the Dieselstop.com site and I've got a headache!  I've never seen so many "experts" disagree about what antifreeze to use.  Gold, green, SCA, ELC CAT-3, DCA, blah, blah, blah.

BTW, do you have a coolant filter on yours?  I've got one on my Dodge as does Doc on his PSD.  I plan to move it over to my PSD when I get it, except I'll use the filters that are precharged with the SCA stuff.

I tried to read all that stuff a couple of days ago and finally gave up.  That forum is not what it used to be when Jason started it.  It has become a magnet for whyners and people looking for an argument/debate.

Up untill the gold antifreeze came out, Zerex (Heavy Duty, white bottle) and FW-15/16 was considered plenty good for a 2001 PSD.  That's what I've always used and I just want to keep using it.....if I could find it.  Two years ago, Walmart and Autozone had it.  I also use the DCA test strips, but I don't have a coolant filter.Brad

I want to say that the AutoZone in Madison caries it.  That is the brand that I use and I have gotten it there many times...

Brad

You mean the Hughes Rd. Autozone or the Hwy 72 Advance Auto?  They are about a block to each other, but the AZ is on Hughes Rd.

Thanks,

Al

Yes, the Hughes Rd on.  Our vet is kinda across the street from them.

I tried the Autozone on Govenors Dr.  No luck.  The guy there said Autozone does carry Zerex any more and he doesn't know anyone that does.

Zerex used to be a major brand, I wonder what happened to them?

Maybe Prestone had more advertising.  You would think a company as big as Ashland Oil (Valvoline) would do a better job of promoting the Zerex products.  They spend quite a bit promoting Valvoline, sponsoring a NASCAR team.
