Does anyone know a place that will cut a piece of flat safety glass to replace a windshield in a 1974 FJ40 Land Cruiser? I have been getting the run around, Jeebus its only a piece of flat safety glass but the only place that I have found quoted me almost $300. just to cut it, not even installed in the frame. Thanks in advance Pat |

I wanted to put safety glass on my old YJ because I kept cracking the windshield in the woods but all the windshield companies said there were liability issues by not putting DOT approved winshields in. You can try a glass and mirror place but thy will praobably need a template and you install it yourself.

I didnt really mean safety glass, I am looking for DOT approved automotive glass. I have no problem installing it myself, but I felt that I shouldnt have to pay almost $300 for a flat piece of glass. My old suburban glass is curved, way larger and, tinted and only cost $150. installed at my house with a brand new gasket.

Pat, Tempered is what you are talking about I think.
I tried to get a piece cut for our red CJ-7 once and nobody would do it because it would just shatter. I don't know what to tell you there man. When do you need it by? |
