I have to get the windshield in my '84 Toyota pickup replaced. Prefer to have it done at my place since I've already taken out the old windshield to fix the rusty spots, but I'm not hard over on that. Anyone have recommendations, or places to avoid?

Ask Nick. He had one replaced at his house but I can't remember who did it.

I just called around till I found someone answering the phone who actually had a clue, instead of some secretary who knows nothing about auto glass. Make sure they know how to install the clips that hold the trim in place. I think I used glass america ??? They came out to my house and installed it. It wasn't cheap.

I work with a guy that does windshield repair/replacement on the side. He does the work on-site and he's done my windshield twice with good results. I'll ask him if he can do it or knows of somebody who can. Where are you located? He is in Decatur but works in Huntsville.

I just had the glass on my Unlimited replaced about a month ago. I just went to Glass Masters there at Sound on Wheels. Was about half of what I had been quoted elsewhere. Didn't take long and fits well. They do advertise mobile service, but not sure if that's more.

Where are you located?
I live in Madison, near County Line road.
Make sure they know how to install the clips that hold the trim in place.
My trim clips are trashed. Was hoping those would come with a new windshield. Probably at extra cost, I suppose.

Glass Masters did my TJ at my work place about a year ago after a hawk decided it was a good day to die. No extra charge for doing it in my parking lot. He did a good job and the price was about average when I checked around. He was set up to take plastic and insurance info.

Half the places I called had no clue about the trim clips. I had to pay extra for the pack of clips. Whatever you do, DO NOT let them urethane the trim in place. This was what caused the rust on my '84 in the first place.
