It is urgent that you take a minute to EMAIL or call the Clerk Of The Board (below) TODAY or no later than noon tomorrow Tuesday and tell her you support the Kern County Supervisors letter to reduce the size of the Giant Sequoia Monument to promote forest health and recreation.

KATHLEEN KRAUSE-Clerk of the Board of Supervisors
(661) 868-3585

As you may know in 2000 the Giant Sequoia Monument was needlessly expanded by President Clinton from 90,000 acres to over 327,000 acres for no purpose other than payback to extremists. The increased restrictions have eliminated needed management and harmed the forest as well as needlessly closing the best trails to motorized recreation. Now is the time to take back our public lands......

Kern County recently drafted a letter urging the Department of the Interior to reduce the size of the Giant Sequoia Monument back to 90,000 acres in order to promote forest health and provide more robust recreation to help our struggling economy as confirmed by noted Giant Sequoia expert Dr Doug Piirto PHD. Stewards of the Sequoia support Kern County for many reasons outlined in our letter to the Department of the Interior.

This is a rare opportunity to support government in helping recreation. Please take a minute now and send an email now in support of the Kern County Letter to reduce the size of the Giant Sequoia Monument.

We have been told that extremists will be attending the Kern County Board of Supervisors meeting. Unless the Board hears from us the board may feel compelled to kill the letter in favor of the extremists.

We have won on issues like this in the past due to members like you contacting your Supervisor or attending these meeting and raising your hand in favor of Kern County action to help recreation.

If you are in the area we also need people to attend the upcoming Tuesday 6/27 Kern County Board meeting at 2 pm in support of Kern County submitting their letter to reduce the size of the bloated Giant Sequoia Monument.

    • WHEN 2 pm 6/27/17
    • WHERE Kern County Building 1115 Truxton Ave Bakersfield

This is a rare opportunity we hope you will take advantage of. Please send your email now.
