When you take an EV and tow with it, it's like having a normal truck with a 5 gallon tank. Energy density and capacity isn't viable yet.

If I still lived in Sherwood Park and only had a short drive to work each day, I would be interested in a small cheap heavily subsidized EV as a second vehicle.  They work for some folks and some situations, but not me anymore living out in the sticks and needing to drive out of state occasionally.

I was interested in the 350 kW charging station he used.  That's 3,000 amps on 120 v.  So your wall plug charger will be a whole lot slower at 15 amps.  We are starting to include 100 kW EV chargers on all army barracks projects.  They run about $10,000 each for a two-car charger.  That is just the charging station and does not include the wire, conduit, trenching, etc. Smile

When we were in Yellowstone in September, we saw a lot of Teslas.  All were either red or white.  I don't know if people drove them all the way to Yellowstone or they fly in and rent them.
