There is a meeting at Grissom High School this Monday, May 18th, at 6:30pm dealing with the Huntsville Housing Authority issue of buying apartments for public housing and kicking out current residents in South Huntsville.  Please attend this meeting if you are able.  This is an eminent domain issue with the government overreaching too far.  Mayor Battle and others will be there.

Huntsville Community Rights "is a group of concerned citizens that have united to defend the rights of all citizens within Huntsville with the facts about the intentions of the Huntsville Housing Authority."  Please visit their website http://www.huntsvillecommunityrights.com - www.huntsvillecommunityrights.com  for more information on this issue, and become involved!

Also, check out Flashpoint Blog's coverage of the events.  http://www.flashpointblog.com/2009/05/04/huntsville-housing-authority-story-making-waves-nationally - http://www.flashpointblog.com/2009/05/04/huntsville-housing-authority-story-making-waves-nationally   "We’ve been http://www.flashpointblog.com/tag/hha/ - covering this story since it broke .  I think that at its core this shows http://www.flashpointblog.com/2009/04/28/socialism-public-housing-is-killing-motivation-to-achieve/ - creeping socialism in America

Why work hard to succeed when doing nothing may result in the government placing you in a luxury apartment complex in the nice part of town?"

I pick up some elderly folks at the Malibu Apts. directly across from Stone Manor Apts. that are being turned into public housing and they are pretty worried about  the "class" of people that will take over the area. One only has to look 1/4 mile north  at the Golf Rd., Hunters Ridge  area and see what has become of that place. Our 30 year class reunion is to be at the Plush Horse this June and no way will I attend that place at night.
